Summer Job Program

WHERE SUMMER JOBS LEAD TO LIFELONG SUCCESS
BUILDING SKILLS. EARNING WAGES. SHAPING FUTURES.

EMPOWERING YOUTH THROUGH WORK AND OPPORTUNITY

The Chatham County Gang Prevention & Intervention Commission’s Summer Youth Employment Initiative is designed to provide young adults ages 17 to 21 with meaningful, real-world job experience that sets the foundation for future success. This program connects motivated youth with local businesses, organizations, and agencies to gain hands-on training, develop essential workplace skills, and earn a paycheck—all while being supported by mentors who are committed to their personal and professional growth.

More than just a job, the Summer Youth Employment Initiative promotes responsibility, time management, and confidence. Participants explore career paths, build resumes, and learn the value of hard work in a structured, supportive environment. Many even use the experience as a stepping stone into permanent employment or higher education.

By engaging youth during the critical summer months, this initiative also plays a key role in violence prevention, offering a positive alternative to risky behavior and creating pathways for long-term success. The program reflects our commitment to investing in our future leaders and strengthening the fabric of our community.

Together, we’re not just offering summer jobs—we’re building brighter futures for Chatham County’s youth.
