PROGRAMS THAT PREVENT, PROTECT, AND EMPOWER
TURNING VISION INTO ACTION

INITIATIVES FOR IMPACT

The Chatham County Gang Prevention & Intervention Commission is actively engaging youth and young adults through dynamic programs designed to provide positive alternatives and meaningful opportunities for growth. Our initiatives focus on prevention, empowerment, and community connection.

One of our flagship programs, Friday Night Live Midnight Basketball, offers teens and young adults a safe and structured space to gather, play, and build relationships. This initiative not only encourages healthy competition but also fosters mentorship and leadership in a fun, supportive environment.

For youth ages 6 to 12, the Saturday Morning Academy provides enrichment activities that focus on life skills, character building, and educational support—laying a strong foundation for future success.

Young adults ages 17 to 21 can benefit from our Summer Youth Employment Initiative, which connects them to job training, hands-on work experience, and valuable career pathways. This program equips participants with the tools they need to become financially independent and future-ready.

Additionally, in collaboration with the Chatham County District Attorney’s Office, we support the "Show Us Your Guns" event—a creative and impactful initiative that promotes gun safety and awareness through art, conversation, and community engagement.

Together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to safer streets and stronger futures across Chatham County.
