About Us The Chatham County Gang Prevention & Intervention Commission is a collaborative body composed of dedicated representatives from across the county. Its members include law enforcement officials from every municipality within Chatham County, as well as leaders from local recreation departments, education professionals, juvenile court representatives, and engaged members of the broader community. This diverse representation ensures a holistic approach to addressing the complex issue of gang activity and youth violence. The core purpose of the Commission is to develop, support, and implement strategies that prevent young people from becoming involved in gangs or entering into cycles of violence and criminal behavior. Through data-driven planning, community engagement, and targeted programming, the Commission works to create positive alternatives and lasting change for Chatham County’s youth. More
